12 week mark
Today's doctor's appointment with Dr. Christy entailed a "full physical," so more uncomfortable prodding, etc., etc. The best part of the exam, though, was hearing zyggy's heartbeat for the first time! The doc says it's quite strong and sounds good! So, despite all of the "trauma" I've put zyg through so far, this kid really is hanging in there!
In 4 more weeks, we get more info on something called an AFP -- a blood screen to check for genetic defects. I'm a bit anxious about this, but I'm also optimistic. But, if there are any positives in the blood screen, which is likely it seems, Tom and I need to decide on whether to do an amnio or not....
These days, I have very little good appetite. I want bland foods and fruit. I think the worst of the nausea has passed but, in the evenings, I still feel a little off and I still am finding I'd like more sleep than normal...
